The Challenge: TxDOT’s recruitment efforts were hindered by their old out-of-date web presence. Not only was the overall look and feel of their career portal outdated, but searches also took too long. The application process was cumbersome—frustrating many potential candidates partway through the application process, and leaving key positions unfilled.

The Solution: TxDOT realized that they needed to address the pain points of both the applicants and the hiring team. The new portal was redesigned based on input gathered through user research and best UX practices.

The Result: The resulting designs addressed the complexity of job searches for the end user. Options were put in place that allowed an easier journey for users. By allowing them to further refine their searches based on function or location, TxDOT saw a significant increase in completed applications.
